I was in Monte Carlo recently to attend the 6th edition of Luxury Monte-Carlo International High Jewelry Exhibition at the iconic Le Meridien Beach Plaza, from 19 to 21 June! The Unique Show featured highly curated exhibitors and high-roller visitors, who were invited only.
The Unique show was not just a high jewelry show but an experience in opulence! The Welcome Cocktails were the perfect start to this exclusive event. It provided an opportunity to meet, greet and dine with the who and who of the industry.
The Sea Club at Le Meridien Beach Plaza hosted the main event. It was the coveted destination of opulence, design and ultimate style. An intimate affair with just over 50 exhibitors and 1600 invited guests, the show was very exclusive.
Dorion Soares Fine Jewelry is a renowned name synonymous with unique jewelry in diamond and coloured stones. Their creation, ‘Copacabana’ was one of a kind hand crafted necklace studded with over 2800 diamonds and 49.8cts of exotic Paraiba Tourmalines.
When visiting international shows, I am always thrilled to visit Indian brands holding their own space. This time I got to see some exquisite pieces from Diva Jewels. Shiv Narayan Jewellers, DiA Precious and Mahesh Notandass.
This Mumbai-based bespoke designer jewelry brand has a playful spirit and conveys fun with gold, diamonds and coloured gemstones. I was mesmerised by ‘Sitara’, their sparkling diamond and gold handbag along with the quintessential diamond Elephant brooch that doubled up as a high-end bag ornament!
Timeless, opulent pieces – the mark of Hassanzadeh Jewelry! Each of their exquisite pieces symbolised handcrafted perfection, heralding their Persian heritage. Visitors loved the geometric designs and subtle colours.
MJ by Mayyan Jaffar is a luxury designer brand from Bahrain. They created enticing statement pieces that thrilled everyone! I found the rock crystal neckpiece, accented with 18kt white gold, diamonds and black enamel with a pear-shaped blue topaz centrepiece, truly stunning.
Shiv Narain Jewellers proudly displayed their curated collection of rare Colombian Emeralds. The most noted of them was the 3-strand Trivana Emerald necklace and earrings set, made with 181.4cts of rare emeralds that had been collected over 15 years. A true labour of love.
Minimalist luxury, inspired by the spiritual essence of the designer Minh Luong Jewellery, was among the winners of the Unique Awards! The 18kt gold handcrafted Swiss Jewelry, with natural gems reflected the Vietnamese heritage of the designer.
The Charity Gala dinner for the Frankie Foundation,at the Terrace, after the welcome drinks was sheer indulgence for all the senses. Good drinks, great food, amazing networking opportunities and exciting entertainment; the evening was everything I could wish for!!
The most glamorous and much-awaited event, the Unique Awards was held at the Le Meridien Beach Plaza. A celebration of design and style, it was hosted by the dynamic Victoria Silvstedt. The coveted awards were won by deserving designers in various categories.
The High Jewelry Fashion Show by Marina Rinaldi was a stunning event! I could not get enough of the dazzling jewelry on the ramp and among the guests. The cocktail hour was followed by a Press Dinner at La Table D’Antonio Salvatore!
Monte Carlo is the playground of the rich, and even the air here feels like breathing luxury. The beautiful beaches, clear waters and the feel of opulence all around distracts you from work! Even as I indulged in all that Monte Carlo had to offer, I had to remind myself of why I was here!!
The Unique Show hit all the right notes….glamour, style, fashion and of course exquisite designer jewels. Although I am back in Mumbai, my heart is still there with all the exotic memories I have created. Au revoir till the next year, when I hope to be back for another opulent experience!!
