The IIJS Premiere 2024 was a festival of dazzle, designs and delight; and it was a pleasure to cover it on my social media handle, @thediamondtalk.
The show took place at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) from 8-12 August and Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) from 9-13 August. Both venues saw extensive participation and a tremendous number of visitors to commemorate the 40th edition of the annual GJEPC event.
This year the theme at IIJS Premiere was ‘Brilliant Bharat’ and will continue for a total of nine IIJS shows. The theme celebrates India and its rich culture, craftsmanship and colours; for India is home to many ancient techniques that are timeless classics and they were showcased at the show.
The Select Club saw an elite participation of 101 jewellers and was inaugurated by Mr. C. P. Radhakrishnan, the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra. The Guests of Honour included Mr. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of Maharashtra; Ms. Manushi Chillar, Former Miss World and GJEPC’s Brand Ambassador; Mr. Paul Rowley, Executive Vice President, Diamond Trading, De Beers Group; Mr. Paul Alukka, Director, Jos Alukkas; Mr. Dilip Gaur, Business Director – Novel Jewels, Aditya Birla Group and council members.

Jatin gems, a 4 decade old industry leader from Jaipur, showcased some dazzling Tanzanite jewellery and a majestic collection of elephant brooches!
Raj Jewellers excels in blending precious stones, jadau and polki to create handcrafted traditional art which was evident in their latest bridal collection.
The Leo Jewels is a renowned name in creating classy, chic and couture pieces that captivate! Their collection was an exuberant medley of natural gemstones and diamonds made with innovation and regality.
Anand Shah Jewels LLP are couture designers with an innate aesthetic sense. Their latest waterfall collection draws inspiration from Mother Nature and was greatly appreciated.
Oriental Gemco Pvt. Ltd., an emerging leader and expert in combining contemporary creativity with classic craftsmanship, displayed exuberance with their pearls, turquoise and corals collections.
OPH Jeweller is all about dreaming and creating jewels with handcrafted finesse. At the show, their tanzanite collection was a living example of their expertise in Pret Modern jewellery.
Tara Fine Jewels made me experience the pinnacle of contemporary designs with this set that entwined a 50+ct kunzite stone with oval emeralds and malachites grooved with diamonds in the choker and 18+ct stones in the matching earrings.
Vama Fine Jewels has over 10 years of expertise in bridal, modern and trendy wear jewels. Their collection Advay by Vama, featured one-of-a-kind masterpieces that are inspired by nature.
Dassani Brothers are a 3-decade-old pioneer in “No Wax – Uncut Jewellery” Their lightweight polki jewellery collection was a delightful glimpse of their craft and excellence.
D’yne Jewellery showcased a range of styles to suit every preference like this ruby necklace that combined classic motifs with intricate designs.
With a long tradition of elegance and craftsmanship, Mamraj Musaddilal Jewellers offer exclusive designs and specialise in the romance and aesthetics of traditional jewellery. I fell in love with their multi layered Polki and Guttapusalu necklaces.
This awe-inspiring recreation of the Bramante staircase was from the Vaticana Collection of House of Sparsh Pvt. Ltd. It is true that they are home to high-end couture jewellery.
Anokha Jewels Pvt. Ltd. prides itself on its 9-generation heritage of expertise in crafting uniqueness. They unveiled a rare “Tulip Cut Diamond” necklace and a multi-layered emerald necklace at IIJS.
With a USP in reinforced jewellery that lasts for generations, GDK Jewels Pvt. Ltd. exhibited their finest pieces at the show. I personally adored a multi-layered grand Columbian Emerald necklace.
Aqua Jewellers are pioneers in fusion jewellery with a collection that incorporated the beauty of Mother Of Pearls, Gemstones and Uncut diamonds with the glamour of gold.
Matching traditional craft with modern execution, Heedario Gems and Jewels presented jewellery that exudes elegance and charm with unique combinations of gemstones and diamonds.
Celebrating the essence of nature, jewellery by Zayna Exports was fun, modern and innovative with exquisite elegance.
Tambi Jaipur, innovatively combined traditional and contemporary styles into these lightweight and trendy pieces that exuded craftsmanship and uniqueness of design.
Dvynlove LLP, a Jaipur-based jewellery brand by Sagar Tambi, is known for creating pieces that are trendy and convertible and hence sustainable, just like this bracelet that also converted into a necklace.
The unique diamond cuts and shapes presented by M.Sashi Badalia and Sons Pvt. Ltd. at the show, is part of their fantastic legacy built on the trust of 3 generations.
Shree Raghav Exports is an exporter of fine gemstones with a global presence. Their Columbian Emerald collection captivated attendees at the show with expert precision, cut and clarity.
Khater Jewellers is a brand that boasts of expertise in their luxe jewellery collection with exquisite diamond pieces that were absolute stunners.
I was awestruck at the richness and reflections of heritage captured in bejewelled legacies by Khandelwal Gems And Jewellers, who promise to turn dreams into sparkling reality.
Now, allow me to share the highlights of the show at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC), which took place from 9th-13th August 2024.
The show at BEC, NESCO was inaugurated by Mr. Harshadeep Kamble, IAS, Principal Secretary (Industries) Government of Maharashtra; Mr Emil Guzelis, Chairman, Zen Diamond: Mr. Sandeep Kohli, CEO, Novel Jewels, Aditya Birla Group; Mr. Varghese Alukka, Managing Director, Jos Alukkas and council members.

At the IIJS Premiere Show, I also saw a first-time entry, Sade İş Mounting Jewellery from Sky Jewels, Turkey. They are specialists in intricate jewellery mounting and offered high-quality products to the industry.
From the heart of Hyderabad, came Victorian Era-inspired Jewellery. Devi Jewellers presented “The Enigmatic Embrace”, a majestic necklace featuring a bow tie knot formed from uncut diamonds and set in gold with Zambian emeralds.
Sohnaa, a luxury jewelry startup, is the brainchild of Sonali Shah Sheth. It was a sheer delight to meet this enigmatic personality who had over 25 years of experience and renowned brands as her clients.

The show was a grand success for everyone! So much to learn, so many new designs and leaps in technology, so many new inspirations and ideas exchanged and so many collaborations cemented. The International and national traders and jewellers networked and found new business opportunities and re-established old ones. Record-breaking visitor numbers resulted in the generation of high volumes of business on all days.
