The 70th edition of the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, from September 9 -13 at the QSNCC, Bangkok; was a true treat to the eyes! Multiple brands showcased their latest and best collections in rare gemstones, fine jewelry and semi-precious stones.
I was honoured to have witnessed this magic and be a part of Asia’s biggest gems and jewelry show. Let me take you through my experience.
The longest-celebrated gem and jewelry trade fair was an arena where global gems and jewelry companies met to trade and network. This year, participants from over 100 countries and 1000 exhibitors showcased the best and rarest gemstones! Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair is the most preferred choice for global jewellers for sourcing, trading and networking needs.
The show was also host to a very unique exhibition that celebrated โThe Spirit of Jewelry Makingโ; which was passionately curated by the distinguished Thai jeweler, Saran Youkongdee. The exhibition celebrated jewelry inspired by global belief and faith systems with representations of sacred icons, revered animals, spiritual symbols and religious teachings.
I visited Gandhi Jewelsโ stall and was stunned by their passion for gemstones which is reflected in every piece they create. They manufacture and supply a vast variety of precious gemstones made in their in-house lapidary with exemplary grading standards, professionalism and personalized services.
Sunan Gems, an expert in calibrated gemstones, was also present at the fair showcasing sapphires and rubies in a wide range of colours. Their expertise of over a decade showed in their custom-tailored pieces with precision cuts and unmatched quality. They also offer re-cutting and setting of diamonds to suit client preferences.
I was mesmerized by the stunning jewels displayed at one of the most renowned Thai jewellery brand; Beauty Gems who are pioneers in crafting exquisite and most extraordinary jewels!
Manufacturers and traders of gemstones met and networked at the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair to explore the new facets of the gems world. Being the most awaited trade fair for jewelers and enthusiasts, it was a place for fostering new connections and building collaborations.
Thailand, the destination of world jewellers and traders, was host to Asiaโs biggest gems and jewelry fair. The show saw some immensely intricate, exclusively elegant and stunningly studded jewelry made by renowned names in the industry. While some focused on gemstones and made them showstoppers, others brought out the best of gold with their artistic craft.
The splendid and amazing collection of the Pranda group was a saga of intricate craftsmanship. It was a dream to see these pieces up close that showcased fine jewelry under the many brands of the group. Some nature and animal-inspired pieces crafted in 24K Gold were so life-like, that I couldn’t take my eyes off them. Their jewelry collection was a testament to the phrase โwearable artโ.
As always, the fair had a host of networking opportunities for me. The cultural eve of the show had traditional Thai dancers and a well-choreographed fashion show of jewels. It was a delight to be a part of the show and make you experience it through my eyes. I am already looking forward to the 71st edition happening in February.
