Marking my debut at one of the most prestigious gem and jewelry events in the industry is a high that I am going to ride on for a long time. The AGTA GemFair Tucson, is organised by the American Gem Trade Association. The 43rd edition of the show took place from February 2nd to 6th, 2026, at the Tucson Convention Center.
This is a phenomenal event where colored gemstones and cultured pearls take the spotlight. The show is known for its high ethical code and educational seminars. The vibrant colors kept the visitors riveted and were truly second to none. I was here to spot the true trends in this colourful world of bold designer cuts and ethical finds.
While talking to the CEO of AGTA, Mr. John Ford, I shared my concerns about lab-grown gems. He heard me out and reassured me that the association was working towards the promotion of natural gemstones and their ethical sourcing with integrity and transparency.
This intricate fish artefact carved in chrysocolla by Glenn Lehrer was a testimony to Crevoshayโs museum quality creations. Their nature inspired pieces are awe inspiring and hold one’s complete attention.
The GemFair is a beacon for those who want to witness history. One such stupendous piece was an โOld Mine” 5.87 carat Kashmir sapphire with its unique soft glowing diffusion that is not found in sapphires of any other origin. Vock and Vintage are true curators of such rare antiques. Another couture piece in their collection was the BVLGARI necklace made with round sapphires in the rarest of hues.
RMC once again asserted their supremacy in the world of coloured gems. Their 42.36 carat electric blue tourmaline left me gasping with sheer admiration. The unparalleled saturation ensured that the gemstone felt like a piece of the deep seas in the middle of my palm.
My time at the AGTA Show was filled with colours, shooting, purchasing and with beauty that left me in awe. Rarest of gems in both hue and size, from across the world, defined the premium essence of the show.Yet another scintillating affair with unique gemstones and precious rocks came to an end. I have carried back the most colourful and rarest of memories that will ensure that I find my way to the AGTA GemFair again.
