Italy is known as a hub of fashion, designs, and trends and two-thirds of all the gold jewellery produced in Europe comes from Italy. It was a privilege to be part of the 70th edition of Vicenzaoro from January 19-23. This is the HERITAGE for tomorrow.
Vicenzaoro is Europe’s Largest Business Hub for the Gold and Jewelry Industry and showcases luxury jewellery brands, diamonds, precious and coloured stones and made-in-Italy products from leading companies.
The 5th edition of VO Vintage welcomed enthusiasts and collectors of vintage watches and jewellery, and T.GOLD showcased the latest innovations and cutting-edge technologies and machinery.
The opening cocktail was celebrated at Bisazza one of the luxury brands in the field of design and a world leader in the production of Glass Mosaics for interiors and exterior decoration. I had a great experience visiting the Foundation and admiring several large installations from prominent architects and designers as part of its constantly growing permanent collection!
The first edition of “The8”, a mentoring project for four emerging Italian and foreign designers; sponsored by Alessio Boschi and Alessia Crivelli was exhibited in the Design Room. This was a fantastic jewellery design regeneration project that linked education and the jewellery industry.
Alessio and Alessia sponsored 4 talented students of IED from Rome and Turin to manufacture their designs and present them to the world. The four rising stars are Igor Quagliata, Roshanak Payrovi, Antonia Ascillo and Juan Sebastian Plah Galindo Galindo.
From now on, every year “The8” will involve all the schools, universities or Jewellery Design master courses, which put forward their most talented students. Vicenzaoro believes in new generations by using the knowledge of great experts in the gold and jewellery sector. Come and discover their works of art at the Design Room.
Vhernier’s launched their latest collection, ARDIS, a sculptural design, innovative in terms of material and shape. It was a pleasure meeting Isabella Tragalio, Head of Design and R&D at Vhernier who passionately shared the design inspiration of Ardis!
Made in Aluminium; the collection is extremely lightweight, and diamonds are set in white gold. Another key highlight of the collection is that the ring made for the right hand follows the line of the hand. Now that’s meticulous detailing!

Exceptionally stunning handcuff and necklace made by Paris-based brand Akillis in rare Paraiba Tourmaline and diamonds from their latest Guarani Collection. Paraiba tourmaline is considered a rare and highly valuable gemstone due to its vibrant colours, and is renowned for its vivid and neon-like colors. Additionally, it’s very rare to find large, clean, and intensely coloured Paraiba tourmalines, just like the one featured in the handcuff!
Effortlessly Elegant! All eyes are on the details with the Fope latest made in Italy; with the Flex’it system. The collection sets the mood with the opulence of the gemstones. I find the collection very contemporary, bold and at the same time effortlessly elegant!!
When you think of Venice, the image of the lion standing on St Mark’s Square immediately flashes into the mind. This bronze sculpture which has been standing since the 16th century is recognised as a symbol of Venice..and inspired by which Roberto Coin a celebrated luxury Italian jewellery designer has crafted the masterpiece brooch with the finest gemstones. This brooch is a representation of the majestic, powerful and royal traits of the king of the jungle.
One of the made-in-Italy brands I look forward to visiting is Serafino Consoli who are renowned for creating a collection of extraordinary pieces of jewellery with incredible versatility, as they can adapt from the minimum to the maximum size; with a simple movement. And this time I enjoyerd playing with the SHAPE of the pendants that makes it perfect to style from day to night look. Just stretch or compress to style or the way you like it!
I have been a great admirer of Vintage jewellery; as they carry a sense of history and have a timeless appeal that continues to captivate people. At the Vo Vintage, I discovered a classic Buccelatti earring and a modern version of an antique tiara. Apart from being an elegant piece of royalty, antique jewels are piece of beauty that makes heads turn.
