Paraiba Tourmaline is one of the most sought-after gemstones in the world of jewellery.
Mr Amit Dugar, Managing Director of RMC Gems Hong Kong explained to us the reason behind their popularity
“Paraiba is one of the rarest stones available in the market, and all the top brands are promoting Paraiba because of its rarity, its colours range from light green to the deepest neo colour and there are a lot of different colours in Paraiba and prices vary from the colour. The prices are less for the lighter colour and the bluer it is the more expensive it is; and usually, the prices vary depending of the colour and quality”

My next visit was by Aquamarine Traders a 50-year-old family-owned enterprise based in Bangkok-Thailand, renowned for manufacturing, exporting, and supplying exquisite Aquamarine gemstones.

💙As the name suggests ‘Aquamarine Traders’ specialise in high-quality Aquamarines ranging in all shades from light to highly saturated blues.
Did you know; that over a period of time, Aquamarine has become a favourite gemstone amongst modern designers? Wondering why?
💙The colour compliments almost every skin.
💙The subtle cool blue colour suggests class and sophistication, making it ideal for any eye colour and outfit.
💙The light colour of aquamarine leaves the designer free to bring out the brilliance with fine grooves, notches, curves and edges. In this way, each aquamarine becomes a unique specimen.
💙They are a cutter’s dream gemstone, carving cleanly with little or no risk of cleaving or breaking. They are used by cutters to experiment with new contours and designs. The lucid colour, makes it easy to see inclusions enabling the cutter to bring out the charming effect of the gem.

Another pick from REWA is a double-line 100-year-old Riviera necklace. Allow me to highlight the features of the Riviera necklace:
During the Georgian period, Riviera necklaces were vibrant and bold, with foil-backed gemstones and collet silver-topped gold settings. These individually set necklaces with old antique cut diamonds have been in demand by antique jewellery collectors. The necklace featured above is one of the most exclusive 100-year-old Riviera necklaces.

At the GOKO booth in the Japan Pavilion, I was happy to meet CEO Hisashi Mochizuki and his son Sho Mochizuki in the Japan Pavilion V 22. Featured above are extraordinary Burma Pigeon Blood Red Ruby jewels I discovered at the booth.
♥️Loose Gem: 4.74cts Burma Ruby
♥️Ring: 3.08cts Burma Ruby
♥️Necklace: 26.90ct Burma Ruby
♥️Earring: 4.9 ct Burma Ruby

Did you know: Among the variety of rubies available, Burma ruby is one of the most valuable Ruby in the world? The Mogok Stone Tract mine in Burma produced the world’s premier Ruby almost 800 years ago and today their rare occurrence and lesser availability makes them highly-priced and collector’s charm!
