It was a delight that JAS: The Premium B2B Show was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest, Princess Diya Kumari, whose presence added grace and prestige to the occasion. Her commitment to promoting art, culture, and entrepreneurship greatly resonates with the spirit of JAS.
The jewellery show hosted national and international premium exhibitors, global buyers and B2B sellers from across the country under the different categories – Gemstones, Diamond & Gemstone Jewellery, Gold Jewellery, and (Kundan Meena) Jadau Jewellery.
My first visit to the JAS Rajasthan Show had to be by Jatin Gems where gemstones weave a beautiful story of the Victorian era. Jaipur is world-renowned for its intricate, and magnificent Jadau jewellery. This technique flourished during the Mughal era, and the artisans of Rajasthan perfected the craft and added their unique touch to it. The process of Jadau first involves beating pure gold until it is flexible; followed by creating a frame and motif; that is filled with lac for the gemstones to be set, and once the stones are set, meenakari work is done. The meticulous process results in a stunning piece of renowned craft known as Jadau! Featured above is a statement necklace handcrafted by the skilled artisans of Raniwala 1881 and Shree G.K. Chudiwalas.
The second day of the show witnessed tremendous excitement as the Jewellery Eminence Awards Gala JEA’23 Gala Night took centre stage. The prestigious event, held within the grandeur of JAS, celebrated the finest achievements in the world of jewellery and added a touch of glamour to the already remarkable show. The night full of glitz and glamour served as a platform to recognize and honour the creativity within the jewellery industry. The Gala night was hosted by Celebrity Anchor, Ex Miss India Simran Ahuja. The Celebrity Chief Guest Indian Actress Aarti Chabria made the evening extra special with her vibrant and gracious Presence.
Jaipur has a rich history of gem cutting and jewellery making, with skilled artisans and craftsmen specializing in various gemstones. Emeralds, sourced from mines around the world, find their way to Jaipur for processing and enhancement before finding their way into the market and setting into exquisite jewellery.
